Magical Family Adventures at the Fall Celtic Festival

Kids will discover a treasure trove of fun and imagination at the Fall Celtic Festival. Beyond live Celtic bands, dancers, and craft beer, the Festival offers a Kid Zone with a bouncy castle, a mouth-watering food tent serving up delicious barbequed fare, and vendor stalls peddling all sorts of sweet and intriguing surprises. Additionally, each year the Festival's organizers--most of them parents themselves--craft a program of original and entertaining Celtic-themed exhibits, demonstrations, workshops, and other interactive play and learning experiences that bring Celtic culture to life for kids and families.

Immersive Celtic Fun for All Ages

While the Festival lineup changes every year, here are just a few of our past family-friendly attractions and activities that proved to be huge hits:

  • Celtic-Themed Face Painting to decorate your little ones with intricate Celtic designs

  • Celtic Kids' Craft Booth run by the Girl Guides of Canada where youngsters can learn to create Celtic decorative objects by hand

  • The Leaky Cauldron Tent, a magical market stall selling shatterproof souvenir mugs and discounted refills of nonalcoholic Butterbeer

  • Traditional Soda Bread Baking Contest, a tasty competition where not just the judges but everyone at the Festival gets to sample and vote on the entries

  • Viking Encounters, a booth where you can learn about the shared history between the Vikings and Celts, investigate traditional Viking costumes, and try your hand at tying Viking knot crafts

  • Car Show exhibiting vintage DeLorean sports cars built in Belfast

  • Dog Show featuring breeds with Celtic roots

  • Exhibition Match of the ancient Irish contact sport of Hurling.

The Fall Celtic Festival extends a special invitation to parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other family members and caregivers to bring your wee lads and lassies along tae the Festival. 'Tis a grand way to enjoy quality time as a family as you explore the richness of Celtic culture together.
